Philadelphia is one of the best cities in the United States to live in or visit, especially if you are looking for a fun place full of history, delicious food, and dedicated sports fans.
Whether you are a big fan of Philly sports or you want to experience the sports culture in the city. I’ve checked out plenty of sports bars throughout the city to find the best ones for you.
Check out my list of the best Philadelphia sports bars below!
Bar-ly Chinatown
101 N 11th Street Philadelphia, PA 19107

One of my favorite Philadelphia Sports Bars is Bar-ly Chinatown, which, as the name suggests, is downtown in Chinatown. I love all the beer options, and you will find 60 of them just on tap. There are plenty of TVs so you can catch the big game and you can get traditional bar food or authentic Chinese food.
Buffalo Billiards
118 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106
215-574-7665
Buffalo Billiards is one of the best bars in Philly, right by Penn’s Landing, thanks to its huge size. There are two levels at the sports bar with two bars. And, as you can guess by the name, there are tons of fun billiards tables. There’s lots of seating here at tables and bars if you want to sit and enjoy the game.
Wicked Wolf
1214 Chestnut Street Philadelphia, PA 19107
NA
A few blocks away from city hall is Wicked Wolf, an upscale sports bar that is perfect if you want sports bar vibes but in a more modern style. They have amazing food here too. And, if you are sitting at the bar, there is a massive TV behind it, and it’s my favorite spot in the bar to catch a baseball, hockey, or basketball game.

Cavanaugh’s Rittenhouse is in the French Quarter, and it is a great spot if you want a lowkey sports bar where you can grab a drink and good food. They have a good variety of beers here, including light beer, ciders, and unique craft beer. The food is traditional pub fare.
Chickie’s & Pete’s
1526 Packer Ave Philadelphia, PA 19145
215-218-0500
Chickie’s & Pete’s is a great bar in south Philly by Broad St. and Interstate 76. The best part of this bar is the food, and they have great crab. Make sure you try their best dish, and my favorite, the crab fries. And they have a great happy hour from 4:30 to 7 PM on weekdays, even Fridays.
City Tap
3925 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104
215-662-0105
City Tap is right by UPenn, and it’s my favorite place to go for craft beer. They have more than 60 craft beers on tap. If the weather is nice, be sure to check out the outdoor patio. I love the food here too, and the pizza is the best, as they cook it in brick ovens. Delicious!
Craft Hall
901 N Delaware Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19123
267-297-2072
Another great sports bar in Philly that’s great for beer lovers is the Craft Hall, right by the river near the Waterfront Square. They have a lot of beer options, but also other yummy drinks like wine and fun cocktails. If you go in the winter, check out the warm cocktails, like my favorite, the Smores. It has vanilla vodka, cocoa, and marshmallow. So good!
Fado Irish Pub

215-893-9700
You know that Irish pubs are some of the most fun places, which is why one of my favorite Philadelphia sports bars is Fado Irish Pub. It is downtown on the corner of 15th St. and Locust. The drinks are great, and I highly recommend you try the bloody mary. They also have a huge food menu.

I also love the food here, especially the perogies.
Mac’s Tavern

Mac’s Tavern is a must-visit pub if you are a fan of the TV show, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It is modeled after the bar from the show, and it is also a great place to grab a drink in the city. I love the happy hour here, where you can grab discounted drinks and appetizers.

Trademan’s and Bru Craft & Wurst
1322 Chestnut Street Philadelphia, PA 19107
267-457-3994
Another great bar in Philly is Trademan’s and Bru Craft & Wurst. I like to come here to watch sports when I want something other than beer since they have a huge selection of whiskey. You will find the classic whiskeys, as well as some whiskeys you may not have tried before. And they have great BBQ, which pairs well with sports and whiskey.
Xfinity Live! Philadelphia
1100 Pattison Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19148
267-534-4264
Xfinity Live! Philadelphia is the best place to grab a drink near all the major sporting events. There are plenty of restaurants and bars all within the Xfinity Live! Center. And, if you are heading to a game, Citizen Bank Park, Lincoln Financial Field, and the Wells Fargo Center are all a few blocks or less from here.
City Works Eatery & Pour House
220 Main Street King of Prussia, PA 19406
484-690-4150
City Works is another great bar and restaurant in Philly in the King of Prussia Town Center. The restaurant is a great place to grab dinner and drinks when the game is on. They have plenty of craft beer on draft, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend the City Work Burger or the Smoked Cheddar Mac n’ Cheese.
New Deck Tavern
3408 Sansom Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104
215-386-4600
New Deck Tavern is a fun sports bar right by UPenn. I love New Deck because there is always something going on here, even when there’s not a game. They have trivia nights, and a lot of the people who go here are students from the university.

P.J. Whelihan’s Pub + Restaurant is a great sports bar, and they have locations all over the city, including in some of the sports centers, like the Wells Fargo Center and the Liacouras Center. P.J.’s has amazing chicken wings, which is a staple for a sports bar. And, of course, they have some great beer too.
Sports and Social Philly

267-682-7422
Another one of my favorite Philadelphia sports bars is Sports and Social Philly, which is just north of Citizens Bank Park. The best part of this bar is the food, and they have all the good sports bar classics, like sandwiches, burgers, and apps. They also have some good cocktails that are a good change from beer.
Tabu Lounge and Sports Bar
254 S 12th Street Philadelphia, PA 19107
215-964-9675
If you are looking for a place to watch sports that is also LGBTQ+ friendly, check out Tabu Lounge and Sports Bar, a gay bar downtown. The bar is great for games, and they get big and fun crowds. I also love the vibe here, and of course, the food and drinks are delicious.
Tir Na Nog
1600 Arch Street Philadelphia, PA 19103
